To prevent ships from crashing into our shores, or getting stuck on the rocks while navigating to port, a lighthouse was built on Little Rock Island. A tiny rock island at the entrance of The Bay of Pirates.
The lighthouse operates fully automated and can be remotely controlled. There is a small pier and entrance for maintenance purposes. On occasion people will visit the lighthouse to remove the caked up bird poop, or use it as a platform to go fishing.
Entry of the island and platform are allowed, diving and entry to the lighthouse are forbidden. Unless guided by government officials.
